Guatemala

A quick recap on the solo travel weekend: GRE completed. Guatemala is a beautiful country with super-friendly people. There are mountains AND volcanoes. (Check out the recently posted pictures.) Guatemala City is very clean and reminded me a lot of Madrid. I sat in cafes and ate cake while studying and people-watching. I visited Antigua, had a splendid tour and got to walk inside the ruins of colonial cathedrals. I now officially feel confident about my Spanish. And, in the end, I was greeted at the airport by the Olancho Aid gang and a new roommate from Boston. Ay- un buen viaje!
